Tarps
Tuesday, January 19, 2016
After reading The Inside Story of an Aid Worker’s Secret Weapon: The Tarp I'm convinced we need these. Every year we need to buy new tarps camping and covering our gear and so on, because the existing ones fall apart precisely in the manner described.
I'm tired of the waste and continual contributions to the landfill and consequent new resource extraction and pollution. It sounds like you folks have something better. Let's try it out. Sell me some tarps, and add a few percent for a Red Cross donation in the process.
I couldn't find them on the store, https://products.redcross.ca/
They are on the international site, but it's restricted to humanitarion and relief agencies. The prices are in Swiss Francs (CHF), which at present are pretty close to CAD, so $30 for a single 4mx6m (12'x18') tarp. That's a good price, probably substantially more for a private citizen though.
