Fossil, goodbye, until next time

I love Fossil SCM. I've grown somewhat skilled in it, able to use it for daily tasks without constantly consulting the docs. I'm still better with Git, though my number of hours in Git to fossil is 100:1. So my velocity in Fossil learning is much, much faster. To be fair, I am transferring some “this is what distributed scm looks like” from my git experience. However even allowing for that, I'm learning Fossil faster.

But, but: I think I need to say goodbye to fossil, for now. The rest of the world is using git pretty much. The docs and forums expect that. The 3rd party tools expect that. I'm too small a developer to shoulder the load of constantly translating into fossil tongue AND undertake the task of learning how to program thing X. This saddens me. I like fossil, while I've learned to accommodate git. But, I just don't have the energy and strength right now.

So, goodbye friend. May we meet again under forgiving circumstance.
